Comedy is not everyone’s cup of tea. You can easily make people cry, but it is difficult to make them laugh. B.H. Tharun Kumar who had given us a fun flick ‘Naya Padosan’ tries the same thing here. But the result is a disaster!
Love Ke Chakkar Mein does not come under the genre of comedy. You can say that it is a series of funny (!) stories. The stories are not properly connected with each other. The story is loosely written and the director has failed to put the subject across to the audience. Unlike B.H.Tharun Kumar’s other movie ‘Naya Padosan’ this one fails to draw viewer’s attention.
The movie tells the story of Vikram [Aarnav Bhatia] who is an MBA. Even after a MBA degree he is homeless and unemployed. But his unemployment never comes in the way of his luxurious living. He is seen riding expensive bikes. One day he meets up with a girl over the net - Neha. They both chat over the net for about a year. Then one day they decide to meet up with each other. Cupid strikes them on their first meeting itself. They have one resistance from Neha’s family. Her father puts up only one condition; Vikram has to get a job in a week’s time.
From that day onwards Vikram starts his job hunting. But he could not come through any of the interview. At last he meets a womanizer Armaan Kochar [Rishi Kapoor]. Armaan offers Vikram a job if he sends his girlfriend to Arman’s place for a night. Vikram sends a call girl instead of his girl friend and eventually gets the job. Then again there are times when he needed Armaan’s help. Every time Arman has only one demand- let Vikram’s girlfriend sleep with Arman. After facing a lot of challenges Vikram and Neha unites. This is the end of the story.
The comic situations in the movie do not look funny at all. Even though the movie is very long we get to know the complete story in the first half itself. So second half is quite boring. Director Tharun Kumar cannot do anything with such a poor story. The movie lacks in all departments. Music, editing, story writing, acting and direction all lack the freshness. The acting is also average. Rishi Kapoor could not do justice to his role. He is not at all comfortable with his character. Rishi Kapoor with his sweet image is not suited to these kinds of roles. Aarnav Bhatia on the other hand has not got the basic right. It means that he is not able to act out his role properly. Parmita also fails. She is high on make up and low on acting. The only actor who has done his best is Satish Shah. As always he made his character stand out from the rest. Shoma Anand let the viewer’s down.
In total ‘Love Ke Chakkar Mein’ fails in his aim – to make the audience laugh. You cannot blame any one department for this disaster. From direction to acting everything adds up to this.
