His last release ‘Mercury Pookal’ had a decent run at the box-office, and now, the fate of ‘Uyir’ will very much determine his position in the film industry. He has Sangeetha and Malayalee girl Samvrutha beside him to woo the audience. Sami is the director of the film.

The actor said that the film has a unique storyline, dealing with incidents that happen in everyday life. He added that it has shaped out very well. The director is hoping for it to do well at the box-office. He said that it has all the commercial elements to entertain the masses.

The director said that ‘Uyir’ is a different kind of love story that Tamil filmgoers have not seen earlier. He also said that he enjoyed working with energetic Srikanth and the entire crew of the film. Heroine Samvrutha is also excited about her decent role in the film. She said that she is hoping for the film to provide her the platform to go up the ladders in Kollywood. Sangeetha, the other lead actress of the film plays the role of Srikanth's aunt.
