Expectation on ‘Raastram’ is high, as director Anil.C.Menon had earlier done fast paced film ‘Ben Johnson’. Suresh Gopi is synonymous with high profile characters and this film is no different. He has shouldered the load by himself. In short, he is the strength of the film. It is all about dirty politics found in Kerala.

Mallaikkal Thommy (Suresh Gopi) is the son of Malaikkal Ouseppachan (Madhu), a Chief Minister with a good heart. He is a Gandhian who always stands up for truth. The mantle of Chief Ministership finally comes to him and so too loads of crises. But he doesn’t bow down to pressure. He brings to light all the evil elements for everyone to see.

No prize for guessing the story of the film, as it is a typical Suresh Gopi film. However, it is the script and Sajivan’s screenplay that makes the audience stay glued to the screens. Suresh Gopi’s performance has made all the difference to the film. Heroine Laya has nothing much to do but she has done her role sweetly. Other actors like Madhu, Thilakan and Venu have done justice to their roles.

On the whole, Suresh Gopi’s fans can expect a lot from the film.
