Audio Review : Reshammiyya Rocks

Producer: Raju Farookhi

The men in demand Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer has come out with another fast, foot tapping music. This time for the Shahid, Kareena starrer ‘36 China Town’. The music has already taken the dance floor by storm.

36 China Town is a Subhash Ghai presentation with Kareena and Shahid in the lead. This suspense thriller is directed by Abbas – Mustan. This is one of the costliest presentations from Mukta Art. Subhash Ghai movies are known by its music. This one is not different. With Himesh Reshammiyya in the music director’s seat you can expect nothing less than hit music. Reshammiyya had composed music for two of Subhash Ghai movies- Aitraaz and Shadi Se Pehle. Both were musically hit. Along with composing music he has rendered his vocals to two of the tracks.

The first track of the album ‘Aashiqui Meri’ sounds good in Himesh Reshammiyya’s voice.  He tries nothing out of the box but only improves on his own characteristic style.  The use of Chinese musical percussion and a pacy rhythm makes it more attractive. The song uses whispers of 36 China Town. In this song Sunidhi Chauhan gives Reshammiyya company.  Her voice enhances the mood of the song. The feel of the song is very vibrant and energetic.  It is picturized on Shadid, Kareena, Tanushree and Upen. The remixed verion is far more energetic and delight to listen. Both the versions are sure to rock the music world.

'24X7 I Think of you' is truly a youthful, yuppie number. Reshammiyya has used Guitar in the prelude. This is the perfect number to introduce Shahid –Kareena Jodi. The tune has imbibed the energy of the lead pair. Ever enthusiastic Shaan and young Sunidhi gives extra zing to this song. As you continue to listen the tune catches hold of you and you sway with the music. It is a complete dance number.  Reshammiyya has turned the nonsense lyric to a hit song. The remix man Akbar Sami comes out with the remixed version. As always he gives more punch and energy to this song.

The song 'Dil Tumhare Bina' starts as a slow moving sound track with violin in background. It is influence by the Latino style of music. The pace increases with the passing lines. Once again Reshammiyya croons this song. This time he has Alka Yagnik as his companion. This is a fast paced romantic number.  The remixed version by Akbar Sami is rocking.

'Badi Dilchaspi Hai’ lets you down. After hearing the opening of the song you expect it to be another Reshammiyya hit. But it fails to do the magic.  It is a Rock’n’Roll number. The remix by Akbar Sami with KK and Arya rendering the vocals is far better than the original.

'Jab Kabhi' is the only slower paced song in this album. Reshammiyya’s music does justice to the romantic verses of Sameer. This song is very touchy and melodious. It has three versions. One sung by Kunal Ganjawala, then the remixed versions of Akbar Sami and Suketu. The Akbar Sami version of remix is a high pitched one while Suketu uses the reggae style.

In short 36 China Town impresses you with its music. The music director – lyricist jodi of Himesh Reshammiyya – Sameer rocks once again. The song 24 X7 has already climbed up in the music chart. The other two potential hits are Aashiqui Meri and Dil Tumhare Bina.  With this album Reshammiyya will give Subhash Ghai another musical feast.
