Movie Review : Nee Venunda Chellam

Producer: V. Palanivel, A C Anandan
Director: L.Venkatesan
Cast: Ramesh, Gajala, Namitha
Music: Dina

‘Nee Venunda Chellam’ is a triangular love story. It’s all about romance between a couple. Ramesh plays the lead role along with Gajala and Namitha. V. Palanivel and AC Anandan are producing it with L.Venkatesan as the director.

Kannan (Ramesh) falls in love with his neighbor Geetha (Gajala). However, her father Viswanathan (Thilakan), a government employee comes to know about it all and tries to prevent Kannan from approaching his daughter. There is also another girl named Anjali (Namitha) in the same locality, who has a gangster uncle Ashok (Vincent Ashokan). He plans to marry her, so, he beats up everyone who proposes her.

As fate has it, Anjali mistakes Kannan of loving her. This makes Ashok’s men to go behind Kannan. However, Kannan is in love with Geetha. Now, Anjali kidnaps Geetha and threatens Kannan to marry her.

Ramesh’s performance in the film is good and he has improved a lot as an actor. His dance and action sequences are impressive. Gajala has done a good job and Namitha has pumped in lots of glamour into it. However, Vivek’s performance is not impressive. Dheena has composed some racy tunes for the film. However, the director has failed to maintain the momentum in the second half.

On the whole, the film has an interesting storyline. It’s worth watching.
