It was rumored that ‘Jigyaasa’ is a film based on the real life story of Bollywood sex bomb Mallika Sherawat but it has turned wrong. In fact, it is about the hurdles and hardships that an innocent girl goes through in her pursuit to reach the top in Bollywood. Various problems come to her from various segments of the society on her way to stardom. Hrishita Bhatt plays the lead role and Faisal Saif directs it. Publicity has been done on the subject of the film but its audio by Ram Shankar has been meted with step-motherly treatment with no publicity at all.
The first song of the album throws a huge pleasant surprise at you, as Rahul Vaidya, one of the finalists in Indian Idol show renders it. “Saansein Meri Saanson Mein” is a melodious love song well sung by Rahul. In fact, it gives a perfect start to the album. Lyrics by Ravi Chopra are also good.
“Saansein Meri Saanson Mein” has a remix version with the title ‘Breathless Remix’. Music flows with the song all through with some rap-n-reggae thrown in. This beautiful merger has made the song flow with continuous beat. This song indeed will make you breathless.
“Jigyaasa” is the title song of the film and it starts with rap-n-reggae. Ram Shankar himself has sung this number and producer Raj Chand has written the lyrics. It is about the thirst and desires of every individual. It is expected to be played in various critical juncture of the film but there is nothing special in it. It also has a remix version sung by Tarannum. It’s an attempt to make the number more peppy and energetic but it has unfortunately lost the track.
“Meethey Meethey Sapnon Mein Kho Jaa” is a lullaby sung by a mother to her girl child. Sadhna Sarham sings this number with good lyrics by Jagdeesh Anand. It’s a good song but it belongs to the 1960s era. The disadvantage is that people will not buy an album to listen to a lullaby.
The number “Khatiya Toot Gayi” belongs to the 'khatiya-bistar-takiya' genre. Sonu Kakkad has sung it with lyrics by S.H. Chauhan. But this song gives a bad taste to the whole album. You can avoid this number.
“Baaton Hi Baaton Mein” is a love song that music buffs will avoid. It will not please anyone. Ravi Chopra has written the lyrics. In fact, this song gives a sad end to the album. It’s hard to understand why Udit Narayan and Sadhna Sargam become a part of such a sorry song.
In a nutshell, it is Rahul Vaidya who gives life to the album by beautifully singing the number “Saansein Meri Saanson Mein”. But the songs that follow do more harm than good to the album.
