Movie Review : Jerry (2006)

Producer: V.Viswanathan
Director: S.B.Kanthan
Cast: Ramesh, Meera, Sruthi, Mumtaz
Music: Ramesh Vinayagam

Expectations were high on ‘Jerry’, as writer Crazy Mohan and Kamal Hassan were incredible together at one point of time, producing several hit films. However, they have failed this time around by failing to evoke laughter amongst the viewers.

Jerry (Ramesh) bets with his college friend Kaushik that he could make three girls fall in love with him simultaneously. He goes around trying to fulfill his words by pretending that he is in love though he doesn’t believe in it. He makes Jeeva (Meera Vasudev), a policewoman, Janani (Mumtaz), an actress and Janaki (Sruthi), a student falls in love with him. The film is all about how all these events happen.

The film lacks sense and just fails to expose the laughter veins of the viewers. Ramesh is not impressive in both screen presence and comic timing. Meera Vasudevan has done a good job, Mumtaz has pumped in lots of glamour and Sruthi’s performance is impressive. Ramesh Vinayagam’s music is also disappointing. On the whole, the film has nothing much in offer for the audience.
