Music director Bharadwaj seems to know exactly what director Perarasu wants. The director’s liking for racy numbers is vivid, as his earlier films are stuffed with fast music. So, Bharadwaj, who is known for melody, has composed some racy numbers for ‘Tirupathi’. He has proved his worth as a versatile composure this time around. In fact, his songs in this album will remain hot in the market for quite a while.
“Aathadi Aathadi” is a rocking number that gives right momentum to the album. Bharadwaj must have composed this foot-tapping number targeting the frontbenchers. Lively Kay Kay and energetic Mathangi have set the spark and add beauty to the number.
“Thirupathi Vantha” is a good mass number and certainly the pick of the album. Shankar Mahadevan’s voice flows so smoothly with the song. The lyrics by Perarasu are so good. The fast beat and heavy instrumentation also have made this number really hot. It will surely go straight to the audio charts.
“Keerai Vedhaippom” is a rustic number inspired by country folk songs. Pushpavanam Kuppusamy is back after a short hiatus and he has not disappointed anyone this time too. Reshmi accompanies him in this number. Light instrumentation and heavy percussion makes this song go straight to the heart. Melodious chorus is another highlight of the number.
“Yenaiye Yenaku” is a sad song that speaks about brother and sister affection and its lyrics are on philosophy of life. Vijay Yesudas’ voice suits the number quite well.
“Sollavum Mudiyala” is another catchy number and has thavil and nadaswaram with heavy beats in between. Singer Harish Raghavendra is not used to fast songs but he has sung it really well. Swarnalatha also has done her job brilliantly.
“Pudhu Veedu” is a straightforward peppy number that would enthrall the frontbenchers. It sounds like a number from Perarasu’s earlier film ‘Sivakasi’. Anuradha Sriram sings at the top of her voice, whereas Tippu does the balancing work. Bharadwaj has tried out various sounds with percussions in this number.
On the whole, Bharadwaj has succeeded in composing good mass numbers. This album will surely hit the chartbuster hard.
