Movie Review : Preminchi Choodu

Producer: Mahadevan Ganesh, Usha Venkataramani
Director: Jeeva
Cast: Shaam, Asin, Laila, Pooja, Arya
Music: Harris Jeyaraj

Everybody experiences love in college or at least a crush for that matter. Here, only look matters. And so, lots of mismatches happen and only a few lucky lovers get married. When you admire somebody, another admires you. There are more of heartbreaks than true love. You see a long line of folks giving up on love, yet you join the queue. This is ‘Preminchi Choodu’ for you. It is all about a group of college friends who eventually ends up in love, and of course heartbreaks follow a step behind.

Shaam (Shaam), Eeman (Arya), Priya (Asin), Pooja (Laila) and Irene (Pooja) are close friends studying in an engineering college, where lot of sports and extra curricular activities take place. They hang out, go shopping, participate youth camps and have lots of fun together. Shaam eventually feels a soft corner for Priya without her knowledge while Pooja loves Shaam without his knowledge. In contrary to this love triangle, Eeman and Irene love each other and they acknowledge each other’s feelings. Will Shaam get Priya? Will Pooja get Shaam? Will Eeman and Irene have a happy ending? There are lots of twists and turns to the story and you will have to watch the film to know it.

Lead actors Shaam, Asin, Laila, Pooja and Arya have all done justice to their role. Pooja interestingly plays the role of an innocent girl who is in love with Shaam though he doesn’t like her stupid behaviors. Director Jeeva seems to have researched deep into the characters, as the film reflects the activities that happen in the campus.

On the whole, people will love the film, as it is all about the things that have happened to everybody. It will take you down the memory lane.
