Himesh Reshammiya has become one of the hottest Bollywood music directors today. With the consistency he is presently in and with age under his belt, he surely has lots of good music in store. The album of ‘Shaadi Se Pehle’ is another feather to adorn his cap. The sound of Bhangra, Techno, Club, Lounge and Desi beats of this album will keep you alive for some months to come. He has the chance of climbing even higher scales if the lyrics of his songs are improved.
“Mundeya” is a kind of song that goes straight to the heart from the very start. Sunidhi Chauhan has sung it so beautifully. The sweet chorus, appealing pop rhythm and skillful use of music have provided such a good feel to the whole song. The remix version of the song by Akbar Sami will surely become hot among the party animals. Use of heavy beats and bass have given a different kind of feel to this track.
“Ankhiyon se gal kar gayi” is a pleasant Bhangra-Lounge number with keyboard generated electronic music piece following all through. A husky female voice that urges to come closer brings your heart closer home. The remix version by Akbar Sami has more energy and freshness. The use of heavy beats, metallic keyboard strain and Punjabi elements of chorus and dhols will make this number hot during festivals and bridal feast.
Daler Mehndi is shining again with “Tootiya Ve”. It’s a sad song that describes the pains of a heart-broken guy. Reshammiya deserves praises for taking the risk of letting Daler to move away from Bhangra-Pop numbers. This song tests the singer’s classical talent including alaaps, sufiyana and ghazal. The mixer of lounge rhythm and the taal of tabla give a different feel to the number. Its remix version by D J Suketu is a beauty. The increase in the tempo has pushed the song to a greater height.
“Bijuriya” is a humorous village nautanki number with lots of tabla-dholak, classical alaaps, harmonium and situational sounds. You will witness keyboard-generated sound resembling a kind of rural string instrument called Ektarai from the very start. The use of western chorus also adds more spice to the number. Alka Yagnik has sung so beautifully with Sukhwinder Singh ably supporting him in the higher notes. The remix version of the song by Akbar Sami sounds even better than the original. Increase in the pace, use of vocoder effect in the vocals, western rhythm loop and male chorus line have made the number hot. However, Akbar Sami has intelligently retained its rustic flavor.
“Tere Liye” is a romantic ballad with suitable use of violin by Reshammiya. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik’s voices are perfect for the song. The continuous use of na nana na makes it more romantic. Once again, the remix version of this number sounds better than the original. Akbar Sami’s techno music strain and jhankaar beats go together so well. This number will be hot on the dance floor. It will also suit while driving.
“Sache Aashiq” has Punjabi flavor with the hoye hoye and aja nach le shava shava, aja nach le jind meriye wrapped in Ludhiana-Dhol-beat. It’s the worst song of the album. Sukhwinder Singh and Alka Yagnik have tried their best to save the song but in vain. It doesn’t appeal to the ears but it could hit off well on the big screens.
There are eleven numbers in all including five remix tracks in the album. The producers and the record companies are trying to make best use of good music. There is everything for everyone in this album. Music lovers should not miss it.
