Debutante Jayasurya is trying to make use of the Malayalees’ love for sports in reel life. Cricket is not the only popular game in Kerala. Other games like football, volleyball and athletics have their own places. So, the director is trying to portray the dreams and aspirations of an upcoming athlete in ‘Fast Track’. It is a campus story with right dose of entertainment, love, adventure and comedy.
Ajith (Dileep), a popular athlete has to give up his career plans due to the demise of his father. He comes back to college after a short gap, as his dream of making big on the fast track is too cumbersome for him. Everybody welcomes his comeback except his race archrival Tinu (Riaz Khan). He takes athletic rivalry too seriously and considers Ajith as his enemy. So, Ajith too retaliates naturally. The rest of the story is on how this rivalry unfolds.
Gajala is the heroine of the film. She must be looking forward for a hit after making a mark for herself in Tamil and Telugu films. Hero Dileep is also excited about this campus story. Madhu Warrier plays the role of Gajala’s brother Rahul in the film and he is acting with his brother-in-law Dileep for the first time with the film. The other cast of the film includes Jagathy Sreekumar, Kunjavaran, Salimkumar and Lali.
Subair produces the film on Varnachithra banner. Director of the film Jayasurya said that the idea of the film came to his mind while shooting for ‘Harikrishnans’ in Chennai. He seemed to be impressed by the athletes in the playgrounds who didn’t pay any attention to the shooting of the film though star actors like Mammootty, Mohanlal and Juhi Chawla were there. Now, the director is opening up his long-cherished thoughts through this film.
