Srikanth seems to love challenges. He takes up and tries out various kinds of films in spite of the hurdles in his career. Yet again, his latest film ‘Mercury Pookal’, which has Meera Jasmine as his heroine is quite diverse from his earlier films. It is a very serious and sensitive film.

Aradhana Reddy, granddaughter of noted producer Nagi Reddy is producing the film on Srinidhi productions banner. Director S S Stanley must be looking for a hat trick, as his earlier films ‘April Madhathil’ and ‘Pudukottayilirundu Saravanan’ did well at the box office.

Director S S Stanley said that the film has realistic characters that deal with the problems faced by youths. He added that he has given his best to come out with a neat entertainer and that he doesn’t beat around the bush in conveying the message he wants to convey. Hero Srikanth revealed that ‘Mercury Pookal’ is a youthful and romantic film. He also said that his rapport with the director is good, as he had worked with him earlier in ‘April Madhathil’. He is confident that the film will do well.

Srikanth and Meera Jasmine are coming together again after ‘Jhoot’. Samiksha of ‘Arindhum Ariyamalum’ fame is expected to add glamour to the film. The other cast of the film includes Karunas, Delhi Ganesh and Pithamagan Mahadevan. Karthik Raja’s music is one of the highlights of the film. Ramesh Babu handles the camera work and Malnad is the editor.
