Production: Shakthi Preetham Director: Sakthi Chidambaram Cast: Sathyaraj, Sibiraj, Namitha, Vadivelu Music: Iman
Sathyaraj's attempt of boosting his son Sibiraj’s acting career with ‘Kovai Brothers’ has failed terribly. They desperately tried to reach out for the stars but in vain. It is a boring film, as there is nothing new in it. Punch line dialogues, action scenes and presence of sensuous Namitha have failed to rescue the father and son duo.
Sathyaraj and his friend Sibiraj from Kovai come to Chennai to take revenge on the killers of Uma, who is Sathyaraj's sister and Sibi's girlfriend. The duo then works in a television channel that exposes corruption in the society. Sexy girl Namitha also works as an anchor in the same channel. Now, Sathyaraj and Sibi take on the bad guys and corruption besides falling for the same girl. The rest of the film is on how they kill the rowdies and who wins the love of the girl.
Lead actors Sathyaraj and Sibiraj have tried to be smart but they have failed terribly in their attempt to bring the house down. Namitha is fine as a voluptuous girl and Kovai Sarala has done her job well. Vadivelu's jokes are not that funny and Imman's music is also ordinary. Director of the film Sakthi Chidambaram has failed to live up to the expectations and hype. On the whole, ‘Kovai Brothers’ is a boring and tasteless film.
