After a long time actor Abhishek Kapoor returns back as a director, writer and producer in Bollywood. ‘Aryan’ is his first directorial venture starring Sneha Ullal (Lucky - No Time For Love) and Sohail Khan. Produced by Poonam Khubani this is an emotional action packed love story about the life of the protagonist for whom boxing and his love is his passion. After being in the making for long the movie will be seeing the light of the day soon. Raaj Anand composes the music of the film and he as well writes their lyrics. He has said that this is his best album of his career. Well it’s time we check out!
The album begins with a melodious and soft romantic track ‘Janeman’ crooned in the sweet voice of Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. The song enchants you with its melody and bare minimum use of musical instruments. The words also flow along with the song. A good number worth dedicating to your beloved.
Next comes up ‘Ek Look Ek Look’ in three versions. Producer Poonam Khubani joins ARA to render the track. Poonam Khubani surprises with her first time rendition sounding so good with a free flowing attitude. Opens the funky and freaky kind of composition that is much in vogue with the ‘remix version’ of the song. Praful Karlekar is the man behind the remix done with rap-n-reggae forming the essential base of the song. The song will cater fine to the dance floors and the use of western arrangements and Indian feel will suit all kind of preferences. The third version of the track is the ‘Dhol Mix’ smeared all over with a Punjabi flavour. Enjoyable and foot tapping, you quite freak out with this number.
‘Teri Te Me’ appears twice in the album and is sung by Anand Raj Anand with Pamela Jain joining him later. The song appears very powerful in his voice and the rock feel suits it fine. More of a situational song with some inspiring lyrics apt for the sequence of the film.
Ranjit Barot composes the track ‘Unbreakable Theme’ which is very international in nature with English lyrics going through it. The fusion song is sung in the soft manner by Bianca and with power by Ranjit Barot. Truly it sounds quite exciting for the uniqueness and different touch that it has. Undoubtedly this is one of the best compositions you’ve heard in a long time in Bollywood that has an international feel too.
The next number ‘Lamha Lamha’ is sung once again by ARA. This is a soft and sad number with fusion of good melody, quality lyrics and western orchestra. This is one number that stays back with you long after you’ve heard it.
Shreya Ghoshal returns back once again with the romantic duet ‘Rab Ne Mere’ accompanied by Kunal Ganjawala. A good romantic track that with a soft and subtle musical touch by ARA.
The best of the album comes at last with ‘It’s A Beautiful Day’, a frothy romantic track with a mushy and suave feel. Good sentimental lyrics by Kumaar add to the number. Shreya Ghoshal along with newcomer Hamza does a good job with the rendition. This is one number to look forward to.
The soundtrack overall is a mix of average to good number and the ride as a whole is pleasurable indeed. Keeping with the trend of the time, the album has the quality to attract and with the love tracks it should be lapped well by the young cinegoers. Anand Raaj Anand has made the album on a good note and this is evident throughout.
