The team of Raj Kanwar and Akshay Kumar return back on screen once again after ‘Andaaz’. ‘Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye’ is a musical love story with Akshay, Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu in the lead, with special cameos by Salman Khan and Bhagyashree. The musical reins of the film are in the hand of Anu Malik and Sameer. Raj Kanwar who has been associated with delivering good music in his films, have made sure that the compositions and the star power gives him another hit. The album opens with the title track ‘Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye’ and the essence follows throughout the album as the songs appear in four versions in the album. Very conventional and absolute melody just the typical Bollywood kind is the strength of the track. But you will say that what’s so new about it? Well it brings in pleasure and good feeling as you hear it in the voice of Sonu Nigam and Gulsan Kuma’s daughter Tulsi Kumar. Both the singers have done an impressive job. The sad and sentimental version of the song is handed over to Sonu Nigam who is good with such numbers. It’s a slow and situational number with a Raj Kanwar style ending to it. Tulsi Kumar renders the female version of the sad number. There is another small version of the song as ‘Humko Begaana Kar Gaye’. After the 90’s music, you get startled with the head banging one that comes next. ‘Fanaah’ is freaky and catchy with the fast pace and rhythm making you go for it at the very instance. With Kay Kay at the helm of singing you can bet that you would just rock with it. Adding to that Anu Malik also joins with some inputs. Going by the trend of the time, the song is sure to find its place in the charts. A love song to be featured on Akshay and Katrina, you will love the look too. There is a remix of the number with DJ Akbar Sami taking care of things, adding more zeal and punch to the already smashing track. A sad song relating to the emotions faced in love is ‘Bhula Denge Tumko Sanam’ with Sonu Nigam brought in to face the mike again. Though the song has a retro feel of the 90s one doesn’t mind it for the good orchestra and the vocals. With the best in the business, there is nothing you can mind. Appears a remix of this track too with Sonu’s performance and musical arrangement by Jatin Sharma changing the whole appearance of the song. Another racy number appears next with ‘For Your Eyes Only’ once again sung by Sonu Nigam. Belonging to the absolute hip-hop nature with rap'n'reggae, lounge or bhangra all merged in one, it is sure to turn as an entertainer. Just chill with it and head for the dance floors to enjoy it. Jatin Sharma returns with the remix of the track and the outcome is mind blowing. Singer Abhijeet can be heard after a long time with the song ‘Rock Star’ accompanied by Sunidhi Chauhan and Anu Malik. A rhythmic song with some jazz and bhangra, you’ll quite enjoy it.
Sweet and melodic song ‘Dekhte Dehte’ comes up next with Alka Yagnik wielding the mike. Abhijeet joins her soon after for this romantic number that begins with heavy music and continues with a melodic feel. Another song that appears to be of the typical 90s kind that is the regular Bollywood stuff. The album comes to a close with a qawalli sung by Krishna, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan titled ‘Mere Saath Chalte Chalte’. Loaded with rhythm and good pace, the singers also work wonders with their rendition. A number that will be lapped well but the youngsters and to be liked by all. The best part of the album is that it is a mix of all kind of songs. A pleasure trip that can be enjoyed throughout, the team of Raj Kanwar, Anu Malik and Sameer doesn’t disappoint. Good choreography and well-placed situation will also lengthen the age of the songs. But for that we’ll have to wait and watch. Right now, just enjoy the songs.
