‘Oru Kaadhal Seiveer’ deals with issue of pre-marital sex. Director Bhargavan has pumped in lots of raunchy scenes into the film in the first half before giving the verdict whether having physical relationship before marriage is right or wrong. The fact is, you are worn out by the time the final verdict is given.
Noted writer Chandrasekhar is a person with sense of modesty and tradition but his daughter Archana Kalrani is just the opposite. She wears skimpy clothes, low hip saris and sleeveless cholis, giving sleepless nights to her father.
She comes across Santosh who also thinks there is nothing wrong in pre-marital sex. She gives in to his wishes. Santosh declares his love for her, as he thinks she is not a one-night-stand material but she bluntly rejects him. She marries another man. Now, frustrated Santosh begins to create problem to her married life. The rest of the film is all about Archana’s life after her marriage.
Santosh has done his role impressively. He has managed to go deep into the skin of the character. Archana’s performance is fine though not very good. The use of language and gestures are not in good taste and makes you wonder how the censors pass a blind eye to them. Bharani’s music is fine.
In a nutshell, the first half of the film will surely make the family audience dizzy.
