Movie Preview : Chithiram Pesuthadi

Producer: Dreambridge Production (P) Ltd
Director: Mysskin
Cast: Sunil, Bhavana, Thandapani
Music: Sundar C Babu

Director Mysskin is trying to portray the love story of a cold henchman who changes his bad ways after falling in love with an intelligent, educated and beautiful girl in ‘Chitirram Pesuthadi’. It goes at a snail’s pace after an energetic start that involves gangsters. Then the film ends with an emotional note. But this debutante director has done a wonderful job by making the film going with good treatment.

Thiru (Narian), an unemployed youth becomes the chief henchman of gangster Annachi (Kathal Dandapani) after seeing his fighting capacity. He then meets Charu (Bhavana) who fights for injustice. Their first meeting ends up in a fight but they soon begin to feel a soft corner for each other. Charu transforms this tough guy to a soft and loving man. He even goes to the extent of moving away from the gang along with some other members and leading a peaceful life by selling things by the roadside. Now, Thiru and Charu plan to get married.

But then the police arrest Thiru for visiting a brothel. This makes Charu to change her mind, and at the meantime, her father commits suicide. Now, Charu shoulders the blame on him. So, he goes back to Annachi. Later Charu comes to know the truth and Thiru does his best to save her honor. You will have to watch the film to know if it is too late for Charu to realize her mistake.

Narain screams most of the time and he needs to do lots of homework to get his expressions right. Bhavana’s performance is cool, as it is her debut film in Tamil. The screenplay writer and director Mysskin has failed to keep up the pace of the film even though he has included all the elements of a good film like action, songs, item song, comedy and sentiments.

The technical aspect of the film is impressive. Its camera work by Mahesh Muthusamy is very good. Sundar. C. Babu has come out with some good songs especially "Vazha Meenu" sung by Ghana Ulaganathan. On the whole, the film seems to have too much of melodrama towards the end.
