The recently produced ‘Bluffmaster’ was produced by Ramesh Sippy and had a decent run at the box office. He is now ready for another take with Taxi No. 9211, which is already completed and should be hitting the marquee soon. Nana Patekar who was also a part of the former film returns back once again playing the lead with John Abraham. After Nana’s taste of success with ‘Apaharan’ and ‘Bluffmaster’ the film will be a kind of acid test for him to prove himself again. John too after earning accolade with ‘Zinda’ this year will look forward to the film for more brilliant results in his career. The film is directed by Milan Luthria and is written by Rajat Arora.
This is a story about two guys who are completely opposite to each other. Raghav Shastri (Nana Patekar) is a clever taxi driver in reality who portrays to the world that he is an insurance agent. He is in need of thirty thousand rupees by any means to pay off loan at the end of the day. He has been striving hard to support his family and has changed 23 jobs in the last 15 years. Sonali Kulkarni plays his traditional Maharashtrian wife.
Jai Mittal (John Abraham) is also stuck in a similar situation. Another witty fellow and heir of a rich businesses he also needs money, but only adding more zeroes to thirty thousand making it to three hundred crores, at the end of the day! Sameera Reddy is his love interest. Jai needs to go to the court to claim his father’s will and prove that he is worthy for the take. And he needs a cab to get there. Raghu needs rich customers to mint him extra money.
They come across each other and Jai rides Raghu’s cab for the most edgy ride of his life, which will leave you bumping upon hilarious situations. Strike upon the most sidesplitting humour as two different people, two egoistic people and two humorous people sit side by side.
The cinematography is by newcomer Kartik Vijay who was formerly based in LA. Vishal Shekhar after some pep with ‘Dus’ and ‘Bluffmaster’ take their turn to score again here with lyrics by Dev Kohli. Some catchy tunes pour out from Adnan Sami and Bappi Lahiri. The film is all set to hit the screens on February 24!
