Movie Preview : Family

Producer: Keshu Ramsay
Director: Raj Kumar Santoshi
Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Aryaman, Bhumika Chawla
Music: Ram Sampat

The recent flick of Rajkumar Santoshi with Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay and Aryeman in the lead ‘Family - Ties Of Blood’ is actually another take on the underworld. Over the years a large number of films have been made based on underworld. But something out of the closet of the serious and hard-hitting Rajkumar Santoshi has to be different. Loaded with message and meant for the society as a whole, he has always made films that have been highly appreciated.

‘Family - Ties of Blood’ is his latest presentation. The conflict is between two families and the lead stars Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, who are also up in arms to war against each other. One of the families has underworld alliances.  After long Amitabh Bachchan will be seen daunting a negative character, but again his humane side doesn’t make him a villain. Santoshi said that the role for Mr. Bachchan has been tailor made for him. Akshay has a mix of seriousness and humour in the film. Areyman is producer Keshu Ramsay’s son and he is not in a larger than life role, as most newcomers seek out rather has a substantial role in the film. Others in the cast include Bhumika Chawla, Shernaz Patel, Sushant Singh.

On being asked about the film Santoshi said, "The message of the film is very clear - your karma marks your destiny. The story moves around what happens when the two families clash. Though it’s a film on the underworld there is a human angle to it too. I have tried to explore what goes on in the minds of the members of a family with underworld connections."
