Audio Review : Himesh doesn’t click

Director: Mahesh Manjrekar
Cast: Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi
Music: Himesh Reshammiya
Lyrics: Sameer

Director Mahesh Manjrekar is out with a fun filled and lighthearted film ‘Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi.’ Shahid Kapoor plays the lead and after a cool year so far, he is up and charged with one film pouring after other. Others in the cast include Amrita Rao, Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi. The film is produced by Sangeeta Ahir. Catering to the family and child audience, the film will release in the festive eve of Christmas.  The music credits of the film go to Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer. After impressing with ‘Aashique Banaya Aapne’, there is bound to be expectations from him for the album.

Jayesh Gandhi the common singer from Himesh camp and KK takes the mike for the first track of the album ‘Teri Yaad Yaar’. Funky and freaky, this one is a Himesh trademark with the high energy and electrifying music flowing all along. Just move with the music without searching for anything novel! There is a remix version of the same track called ‘Love Mix’ with added rhythm and faster pace.

‘Pyaar Mein Tere’ comes up next, again missing the freshness ingredient. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal do the signing, without being unable to help this average track much. There is again the remix version of the same number sung by Sonu called ‘Love Mix’. As a whole nothing impressive!

Another duet follows as Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal come together for ‘Chahenge Tumhe’. More on the line of love and romance, conventional and stereotype Himesh music, the song doesn’t rise above the rest. Tried and tested formula of melodic music and good music arrangements makes the song okay. However don’t expect a ‘Tere Naam’ here.

‘Koi Aap Jaisa’ a situational track comes up next with Kunal Ganjawala and Madhushree getting behind the mike with a cameo by Jayesh Gandhi. Another average song that is harmless. The track represents the theme of the film.

Acclaiming love and feelings, ‘Dil Ke Maare Hai’ is a love duet by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. A pleasing number that again sans novel ingredients. Reshammiya we’re still waiting to hear a chartbusting number!

The chants of  ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ end the album. A very lengthy track with high rhythm and beats crooned by Shankar Mahadevan and Ajay. The singers sound good. However a traditional music base for this track would have done fine.

Throughout the album we kept asking for just one number that would make the album of ‘Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi’ stand out. In return we just got a BIG DISSAPOINMENT. The music has nothing to speak about and it is an absolute passé. Himesh take care next time!
