Director Vinayan’s latest film ‘Boyyfriennd’ is based on the life of a mother and son with campus setting. It is a comedy and suspense investigation. Veteran playback singer Yesudas is going to do cameo role for the twelfth time in the film. He sings a mappila pattu at the request of his friend Khadar Das, played by Mamookoya during the wedding function of his daughter Honey. A fight breaks out between the two sides and the singer tries to mediate.

The film is about the mother and her son. The mother in her mid-thirties is an employee in the secretariat. She lives with her 17-years-old son like a friend. All hell breaks loss after a minister, whom her son had a row is killed. Their fortune also takes a complete turn after the event. The boy is accused for the murder of the minister. So, investigation begins on the matter. Madhumita, who makes her debut in the film, helps the actor escape from the police.

Lakshmy Gopalaswamy is Nandini Prasad in the film. She portrays the role of the Ramesh’s (Munikuttan) mother. Sreenivasan plays Idiyan Kartha, the police officer. He investigates the murder of the minister. Mukesh is minister Natesan in the film. Jayachandran composed the songs with lyrics by Kaithapram. Vidyasagar produced the film under the banner of Harikrishna Productions. The film is scheduled for release this November.
