Zakir Hussain alias Kunjakka (Mammootty) is the owner as well as the conductor of Maithri Bus. He takes over the ownership of the service after his father Abookka dies. It was his father and his friend Madhavan who first started the bus service in Eranad.

Kunjakka is an honest man and respects the passengers in his bus. He has two sisters, of which the older sister is married. He loves Selina (Mamta), the other sister very much. But she is a heart patient. He makes up his mind not to get married till Selina recovers from the disease.

Kunjakka’s girlfriend Noorjahan (Nikhita), a teacher is ready to wait for him. But everything changes when Suganthi (Bhavana) comes in search of Kunjakka.

V M Vinu is back with yet another clean entertainer after ‘Vesham’. ‘Bus Conductor’ is about the life of a simple man. T A Razak wrote the script of the film. Mammootty plays the role of Kunjakka and Mamta plays his sister Selina. Bhavana plays Suganthi and Jayasurya plays opposite her. Nikhita plays the role of Noorjahan, a teacher.

Vaishak Rajan produces the film under the banner of Vaishak Films and Sanjeev Shankar handles the camera. M Jayachandran composes the music of the songs written by Girish Puthencherry. The shooting of the film is progressing at a fast pace. This family entertainer is scheduled for Christmas release.
