Director Priyadarshan who was better known in Bollywood so far as the maker of lighthearted comedy films, remakes the Malayalam movie ‘Thalavattam’ as ‘Kyunki’, a serious love story. After ‘Tere Naam’ this is the second Salman starrer that sees him as a mentally unstable guy owing to love. Playing his ladylove in the film are Kareena Kapoor and Rimi Sen. Jackie Shroff is in an important role in the film. Guzzling with emotions, the film is a passionate story of three lovers, caught in troublesome helm of affairs.
Anand (Salman) is a young and handsome man who is in love with Rimi Sen and desperately wants to marry her. Soon he is charged of murdering his wife (Rimi Sen) and is confirmed to be mentally unstable. He then comes across Dr. Tanvi (Kareena Kapoor) who is very understanding and compassionate towards him. Both of them come close and fall in love with each other. Dr. Tanvi feels emotional towards Anand and also knows about her professional duties. The duo faces the hurdles of the society and profession to let their love live.
The film is much awaited because it is the consecutive release of Salman Khan after the super success of ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’. The onscreen pairing of Salman and Kareena for the first time also makes the film special. Produced by Mukesh Talreja and Sunil Manchanda, the film will release this festive month of Diwali.
