Audio Review : Koi Aap Sa Music - Pretty lukewarm

Producer: Ekta Kapoor, Shobha kapoor
Director: Partho Mitra
Cast: Aftab Shivdasani, Dipannita Sharma, Himanshu Mallik, Natassha
Music: Himesh Reshammiya
Singers: Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Jayesh Gandhi, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan,

Ekta Kapoor, the queen of soaps is here with ‘Koi Aap Sa’ her second release of the year, after the success story of ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’. The film is of romantic genre and reels around college, friends and love and has the theme revolving around love and friendship. In the lead are Aftab Shivdasani, Dipannita Sharma and dependable Natassha who is repeated once again in the banner after already working in three Balaji Telefilms production so far. Debutante Partho Mitra directs the film. Ekta repeats the hit pair of Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer for the sound track of her album.

Himesh Reshammiya begins in his vintage style the track ‘Seene Mein Dil’. The song is another treat for Himesh’s fans who has liked such tracks coming out of the composer over the years. Sung in the extremely sweet voice of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, this melodious number settles down with you the very first instance you hear it. Alka Yagnik goes solo for another soothing take in her voice later in the album.

Very much unlike is the next track in the sense that it is a remix version, appearing before the original appears in the album. But anyways ‘Aadat Ho Chuki Hai’ needs no introduction. The song is already played all over the place. Sunidhi Chauhan sings in her husky tone modulating her voice according to the song. DJ Akbar Sami is at the helm of the remix with Shaan making a special appearance at the end of the track.

A romantic track for this sweet film comes up by Sonu Nigam. ‘Tere Dil Ka Rishta’ is admirable due to the soft lyrics by Sameer and the superb solo singing by Sonu. A number that you can dedicate to your buddy without any hitch and enjoy the sweet melodious moments together.

Another remix before the original. Seems like Himesh is up his sleeves to try some novel element in the sound track. ‘Bandh Mere Pairon Mein’ follows as another vintage of Himesh- Sameer pair with their frequently used words and musical overtones. A conventional track, that has nothing new to offer, but may again go down well with Himesh’s fans. Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan and Jayesh join the mirth in full swing. However the track demands much more.

The title song ‘Koi Aap Sa’ begins in the voice of Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. Another melodious number to add to the album. A decent score with ear pleasing melody, but lacks the bang for a GO.

Another pleasant track follows next with ‘Kabhi Na Sukoon Aaya’. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik at the helm again to add to the pep with their voices. A sweet sounding number with a trademark of Himesh- Sameer that will transform you in good mood. The second version of the song by the same singers appear later in the track.

The album is a mix and match of some melodious and some frothy tracks. But it lacks consistency and thus only some numbers appears good while others fail to fall in place. The songs are enjoyable and make up for pleasant hearing but they are not of the genre to top the slots of the charts or remain in your memory for long. Keeping note on the recent track record of Himesh, who is leading the scene, we expected a much better delivery.
