Movie Review : Nenapirali

Producer: Ajay R Gowda
Director: Rathanaja
Cast: Naveen Krishna, Prem, Vidya Venkatesh, Varsha
Music: Hamsalekha

Director Rathnaja has done a wonderful job by moving away from the mainstream cinema. He deserves a pat from the back for not getting into violent and action movies that have become the order of the day. He has handled the presentation of this triangle love story so beautifully, though it is his first film. Emotions are presented wonderfully in the film. In fact, everything about the film seems to be good. Its photography is excellent, accompanied by good music, screenplay, dialogues, story narration and splendid performance from the cast. All these aspects have made it a good film.

In the film, Indhu (Vidya) and Bindu (Varsha) are sisters. Indhu loves a big businessman Ekanth (Naveen Krishna), who has no time to take care of his girlfriend. So, an idea struck Indhu and tells a lie that her parents are looking for a guy for hands of marriage. Now, Ekanath also gets an idea and send his friend Prakash (Premkumar) to pretend as Indhu’s boyfriend. But he leaves the scene, as Indhu feels that she should meet him first. Now, Indhu marries Ekanath. Everything goes on as Prakash has planned. Ekanath sends him to head his business in Mangalore.

In the meantime, Bindhu comes to Mangalore for her project on administration. She works under Prakash for her project and stays with his family. Circumstances make Bindhu his better half. Then they fall in love and decide to get married. But something horrible happens at this very point of time. Ekanath dies of car accident in Bangalore. Now, Indhu decides to marry Prakash, as the elders in the family compel her to marry again. This intention of Indhu hurts her sister Bindhu, as she is in love with Prakash. This circumstance makes Prakash, Bindhu and Indhu to pour out their feelings. You should watch the film to know the ultimate result of this love triangle.

All the lead actors Premkumar, Vidya and Varsha are wonderful in the film. This is Varsha’s debut film but she has done a splendid job. She has the talent to make it big. Vidya has done a good job, while Naveen Krishna’s performance is not up to the mark. Premkumar’s performance is neat but he needs to change his style of delivering dialogue. Ananthnag and Jai Jagdeesh give good support to the film.

The film is technically very good. Ramachandran has done an incredible job with his camera. He has fabulously captured the beautiful scenes of Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore. In short, the cinematography of the film is superb. Hamsalekha has come out with five soothing songs for the film. But it is director Rathnaja who deserves all the praises. His forceful dialogues, apt screenplay, narration and presentation have made the film a beauty. On the whole, ‘Nenapirali’ is an example of what a good film should be. It’s a good film and you should not miss it.
