‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ is a new film in the block featuring Emraan Hashmi, former Miss India Tanushree Dutta and Sonu Sood in the lead. This is for the second film that Emraan Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta are pairing together, the first being ‘Chocolate’. Tanushree Dutta is the eye catcher of the film being the only glam doll in between the two hunks. This makes things very obvious, how much they’re going to fight for her. But that’s not all to the deceiving love story as it has an underlining of thriller.
The film is directed by a debutant director Aaditya Dutt and is produced under Balabhai production. The musical score is set by Himesh Reshammiya and the lyrics are by Sameer. Apart from other frontline singers for the soundtrack, the surprise element happens to be Himesh Reshammiya who has given his voice for as many as 6 tracks for the album. The album as a whole is a pack of nine songs.
The album opens with the melodious title track ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’. The tune is pleasing with the rhythm hitting the bull’s eye. The track is laced with quality musical arrangements, giving it a shot at the very first instance. There is a suave and lovey dovey feel all throughout it. Equally brilliant are the lyrics of Sameer. The voice of Reshammiya and Shreya Ghoshal also happens to be the show stealer. It’s a pleasant start so to say.
Accompanying the original is the ‘Remix’ of the track by Akbar Sami. To give a peppy touch to a melodic number is not as easy task, but the tempo of the track set by Akbar Sami goes for an earshot. The subtle number is transformed with beats and pace, making the track worthy for the dance floors. Its sole Reshammiya doing the crooning and appearing justified.
The crazed about star Indian Idol Abhijeet Sawant makes his foray into play backing with this album. The song titled ‘Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan’ is effervescent and lively. Oozing pace and beats, it’s a trump card for Abhijeet Sawant. Complimenting him is the singing diva Sunidhi Chauhan. An absolute track to ignite the dance floor again.
Having the punch and feel of the Pakistani pop merged with fusion is the song ‘Aap Ki Kashish’ with Reshammiya doing the rounds again. The number is another added feather to the continuation of the good flowing tracks. Krishna and Ahir also wield the mike. High on pep and pace, with words falling in place, the number is going to make its mark instantly.
The song also appears twice more for it affable and flamboyant nature. There is a full-fledged song crooned by Reshammiya and Ahir. The next version is the remix of the same track by Akbar Sami. He impresses again making the track an instant catcher.
Giving a break from the Reshammiya voice, we’ve KK wielding out ‘Dilnashin Dilnashin’. His voice is hardly recognizable due to the varied tonal and modulation in his voice. Keeping with the mood of the sound track so far, this also appears to be a foot tapping and knock the dance floor number. There is also a remix of the number by Chetas.
A caboodle of singers like Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Himesh Reshammiya, Jayesh Gandhi, Sunidhi Chauhan and Vasundhara Das line up to sing a college number ‘Dillagi Mein Jo Beet Jaaye Zindagi’. Reshammiya however plunges into a copying act with this one from the original of Ali Zafar’s ‘Rangeen’. Though the track is fun filled and lively, the pick of some other tune leave it half-baked.
Reshammiya doesn’t disappoint and the album in all its might appear enjoyable and trendy. The tracks are charged up, very easily transforming you into a dancing spree. The two strengths of the album are ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ and ‘Aap Ki Kashish’. Reshammiya balancing both the acts of a composer and a singer does an accomplished job!
