Director Radha Mohan debuted with the film ‘Azhagiya Theeyae’ and the film opened up pretty well in the box office. She is now gearing up for her second film ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. Though the literary work of Kalki and the film shares the same name, both have no resemblance to each other. The film is produced by A M Rathnam. His son Ravi Krishna plays the male lead and Gopika plays his love interest in the film. Revathy also plays a pivotal role in the film as Ravikrishna’s mother.

The story of the film is on the line of youngsters. It portrays a youth who is taken over by inferiority complex and has lost all his confidence. He has little interest in life as he can hardly face any situations with courage. The change in his life comes when he comes across some people inspire him and stir confidence in his mind to fight and succeed.  Overall it’s an emotional saga of a youth who strives hard to achieve his goal.

Ravi Krishna has got to do something similar to what he has done before in ‘7 G Rainbow Colony’. He had more scope to exhibit his talent through the film. Radha Mohan has extracted the best from the cast.
 
Gopika grabbed the film as soon she heard the script because she was very impressed with the storyline.  She tells that though it’s a hero oriented film, yet unlike many Tamil films she has got more scope to perform here.
 
The film is grandly produced by A M Rathnam. The message that the film carries are sure to catch the eyes of the audience, the director believes.
