Mammootty’s run of success is continuing without a break from 2004. He gave six hits in a row last year and three hits this year upto June. His next film to be released shortly is ‘Raapakal’.
The film has Mammootty along with Nayanatara, Sarada, BC Menon and others. It is produced by Howly Potter and directed by Kamal. Music is by Mohan Sitara.
The film revolved around a matriarch Saraswathi Amma (Sarada) who heads the Krishnamangalam Kovilakam. Her sons and daughters are all settled abroad and they come once in a year to Kovilakam.
Krishnan Kutty (Mammootty) is a cook in the house and apart from cooking he takes care of all other affairs of the house. He is the trusted lieutenant of Saraswathi Amma and without him, nothing happens in the house. Even the family members who stay abroad are very happy with Kutty. In between, he finds time to romance his ladylove Gowri (Nayanatara) who also works in the house. Everything seems to be going well until a sudden twist in the tale changes the track of the film. There is a rumor that the film is inspired by Bawarchi, the Hindi film of 1975 directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
Nevertheless, another super hit film of Mammootty is on the cards.
