To tickle you with laughter, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya is David Dhawan’s new presentation for you. David Dhawan’s name can make anybody jump with excitement for the kind of fresh and hilarious films that he makes. After a series of setbacks he again tasted success last year with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. He presents this film in the same vein. To the string of comedies that is absolute David Dhawan style, here is another addition.

Sohail Khan Production produces the film under Shree Asthavinayak Cine Vision banner. Playing the lead are Salman Khan once again, alongwith his beau Katrina Kaif and brother Sohail Khan, Sushmita Sen and Arshad Warsi. Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer combo do the composition.

The new club anthem that is already sweeping the nation is ‘Just Chill Chill’. New entrant Amrita Kak and Sonu Nigam sing the song in a subdued octave to great effect. With the one liner ‘Everybody on dance floor’ Jayesh Ganshi and the singers springs to what the message convey. The blend of western music, club feel and foot tapping tempo energizes the track. This much goody track has a ‘Remix’ by Akbar Sami that booms with heavy percussion, sounding different and interesting at the same time.

’Dil Di Nazar’ gives a gala time for the singers, composers and the listeners. The song is similar to the former track in regard to belonging to the same genre and as well introducing another new female voice Priya. Shaan, Neeraj and Shaznine lend their full-throat voice and passes muster. This is an enjoyable song with Himesh’s stamp all over it. Western music and tempo again finds its place in the song. Inspired by retro style of disco and groovy music, the track is apt to groove and gyrate. A ‘Remix’ follows on the same beat ousting fun and frolic.

If the last track had Himesh’s stamp all over it, what should we say about this! ‘Laga Prem Rog’ is vintage Himesh and Sameer track with chunri, payal, choori and many such things making their way. The duo really needs to get some other source of inspiration to exempt them from sounding repetitive. Alka Yagnik bills the song on the strength of her voice that is getting better like old wine. Kamaal Khan follows her. Carrying on boogie-woogie feel the Indian style, this is going to be a treat for the masses. Comes a ‘Remix’ again for the third time, with new beats and reggae feel.

‘Ishq Chunariya’ is in the line of most predictable and similar Himesh composition. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik claim the renderings spilling nothing new to the ears. The genre of the song gives a break to the youthful music flowing so far. Though there is nothing creditable and contagious in the song, yet it has a nice verve.

Carrying on an amusing light war ‘Sajan Tumse Pyar’ is rendered by the dependable duo Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The lovable syrupy track with ear catching music is another well-composed song of the album. Set on a festive milieu, it sprinkles mirth.

A lot of pace gears gain with Kamaal Khan and Sunidhi Chauhan crooning ‘Ye Ladki’. The track is faintly appealing and even the English feel and touch doesn’t help much. The same applies to the ‘Remix’ of the song.

‘Teri Meri Love Story’ reborn from ‘Aa Meri Life Bana De’ and ‘Head Ya Tail’ has strokes of voice of Shaan, Babul Supriyo and Sunidhi Chauhan. The track is catchy but inane and will go down well with Salman fans.

Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer have given their best shot, composing music for this David Dhawan film. There are melodious numbers but only upto an extent. The rest comprises fun filled, energizing and funky tracks. Overall the album has a place in the sun!
