After a gap of nearly two years, "Dhum" pair Sudeep and Rakshitha will be seen co-starring in the Kannada film "Kashi From Village" - an action saga chronicling the jolts and bolts of a village lad who migrates to the city.

Produced by N. Kumar, who earlier made "Ranga (S.S.L.C)" with Sudeep, the film revolves around Kashi, a rustic guy who comes to the city to earn money to educate his brother.

He encounters many people, including a female trickster (played by Rakshitha) who later falls in love with him, and ends up becoming the voice of the oppressed in the city.

"We have taken care to highlight Sudeep's image in the story of the film. I don't say that this film's story is original and that the narration will be different," said director Sai Prakash, who had earlier directed the hit "Maharaja" with Sudeep.

"It will be like any other commercial film, but we have certainly presented the film in a way that appeals to a large section of the Kannada film fans."

According to Sai Prakash, the story has more commercial ingredients than his previous film "Maharaja", which was more a family-oriented, sentimental drama.

N. Kumar says "Kashi..." has been made with a Rs.20 million budget.

Two of the songs are shot abroad and Rakshitha will be seen as both glamorous and funny.
