Balaji Telefims Ltd. of Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor are venturing for their next production titled Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. After the non-success of horror flicks like Krishna Cottage and Kucch To Hai, this production house is trying their hands in comedy for the first time. Sangeeth Sivan who had formerly directed action films like Zor and Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne, directs this film. The cast reads as Tushar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Isha Koppikar, Neha Dhupia and Anupam Kher. The music is by Anu Malik who had worked with this banner earlier too. This time he is set to compose cool tunes assisted by Sameer with lyrics.
The title track ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’ takes off in the throaty voice of Kunal Ganjawala and K.K. Loaded with rhythm and jazz, this track goes out to be a groovy one by Anu Malik. It is a definite ear catcher and a boogie number. There is also an ‘Instrumental’ and a ‘Remix’ of the same track.
Another number to follow in the same vein is ‘Jaago Na’. Surprisingly the first track is set in the vocals of the male singers and this one is out an out a female track in the vocals of Sunidhi Chauhan, Sowmya Raoh and Gayatri. The voices are a rage and so is the funky music flowing throughout. There is also an ‘Instrumental’ of this song.
For the harbingers of fast and peppy music, here comes another treat in a row. This one goes out to be ‘We Are So Different’ by Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala. There is nothing like an exclaimable quality in the track but with good beats and pace it falls in place.
‘Chaska’ with Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan is another munchy raunchy number. Beats of dhol and drum dominate most part of the track, makeing it an absolute boogie song. For the instance the song suits fine but the longevity of such tracks cannot be guaranteed.
The album wraps up with the hip and happening track of Jay Sean and Rishi Rich Project titled ‘Dil Mera’. Following the line of ‘Mere Dil Vich Hain Hum Tum’ this is also a mix of English, Hindi and Punjabi. It sounds more or less similar to their hit track.
The round up of the sound track makes it very obvious that it is targeted for the youngsters, parties and the dance floors. With the film carrying the youthful message this should vibe well with the theme of the film. Anu Malik has delivered what was expected out of him without fiddling much with the music. The tracks are definitely cool aimed for the cool peoples!
