Sneha, the Mumbai lass has the most incredible position in the Telugu cinema right at this moment. Hitting the screen with two subsequent big movies ‘Sankranthi’ and ‘Radhagopalam’, she is proving more than words can say. She started her career with Malayalam films and then went on to create rage in the Tamil and Telugu film circuit. But her success hasn’t taken her off her feet, as she is very choosy about her roles, constricting herself to only performance oriented ones.
An interview with the beautiful and talented actress Sneha, on her film Sankranthi and Radhagopalam.
Excerpts:
Sankranthi and Radhagopalam are both set to release. How do you feel?
Both the films will be released in the month of February. The films are good and have shaped up well. Sankranthi is my27th film and lot of my expectations is attached with it. Radhagopalam means to me more than words can express. The results are awaited after their post release. Sankranthi is the remake of Tamil Anandam. You were a part of the Tamil film too. Comments.
I’ve done the Tamil Anandam. But my role in both the films are absolutely different. Here I’m doing the role what Devayani did in Tamil. The role is very significant and I’m happy to play it. Pairing with Venkatesh was exciting too. He was very comfortable to work with and his involvement in the role as well as the varied aspects of the film is astounding.
Your role is very significant as you say. Tell us something about it.
I’m one of the daughter-in-laws in the family of Venkatesh. I play the wife of Venky. My character is that of a responsible, matured and rational person.
Is the film ditto as Anandam?
No there are many changes in the film. Though the concept is similar yet to suit the Telugu taste some changes has been made. A song has been shot in Turkey which also accounts for the difference.
Now tell us about Radhagopalam? Radhagopalam is a very important film for my career and me. I’ve got an opportunity to work with the esteemed Bapu sir. Even at the age of 80 he has a good technical insight, energy and enthusiasm. This provokes a kind of encouragement in us to deliver our best.
What is your role in the film? I’m cast opposite Srikanth in the female lead. I play a daring and extrovert girl. This is very unlike to what I did in Sankranthi.
How was it working for the film?
It was very enjoying doing the film. The film is straight out of the heart and this aspect will get it noticed. The team of the film was wonderful and co-operative.
Will you be doing more Telugu films down the line?
If I’m offered a performance-oriented role and if I believe in the character that I’m doing I’ll definitely grab the project irrespective of what language it is in. What is your future plan? Right now I am doing two films in Tamil. I’ll stick to roles my audiences like.
