S A Rajkumar’s music seems very outdated at times and his tracks are hardly innovative in regard of melody. But inspite of these factors he is considered to be a successful music director. With Sankaranti he completes his 150th musical venture. The audio of Sankaranti is just the replica of his earlier composition Anandam.
‘Aasa Aasaga’ is a vintage of S A Rajkumar. The style and instrumentation is monotonous. The only good aspect of the track is the fantastic singing by S P Balasubramaniam. He is the saving grace of the song. The next track ‘Ade Pade’ is varied from the routinous tracks composed by S A Rajkumar. Chitra and Karthik with their beautiful voice add to the charm of the song. The tune is soulful and the melody is addictive. The talent of Rajkumar comes to light in this song.
‘Andala Srimathiki’ is nothing distinguishing again. The music is commonplace and the tune is very dull. Even the charming sweetness of the voices of Sriya Ghosal and Hariharan do little to save the song.
‘Chilaka’ swarms with fast music and beat. The track appears refreshing. The vibrant voice of Shankar Mahadevan and Sujatha add to the appeal of the song. Overall the track goes along to be fine.
‘Doli Doli’ again has Rajkumar’s stamp all over it. Shankar Mahadevan adds to the punch of the song and Chitra and Kalpana gets along fine too. The song with all the happening element appears good.
‘Ela Vachenamma’ also appears to be straight from the Rajkumar’s closet. But this time he doesn’t pull along fine. The track appears very dull and monotonous. Udit Narayan and Sadhan Sargam give out a good performance which goes down the drain due to the insignificance of the track.
‘Pelli Pata’ is a trademarked old tune. The new striking thing in the track are the voices of Parthasarathi and Murali. The song is a situational number when a girl goes to her in-laws place for the first time. Rajkumar hasn’t fiddled with the orchestra and tune much.
Most of the run-of-the-mill kind already attempted by S A Rajkumar. In regard to the film the songs may vibe well.
