Director S.A.Chandrsekhar is back with a mass masala film after a short lull. Playing the lead are Vijay (son of the director), Ravi Krishna and newcomer Nadeesha. The film is produced under JS Films banner.
The music of the film is by Vijay Antony, a talented newcomer setting his feet on the commercial music for the first time. He is a pass out of Trinity College of Music, London. The music is peppy but aimed at the masses and the youngsters. There are seven lively tracks with a touch of western music. Let’s check out what the new talent has brought for us.
The soundtrack opens with ‘Sathikkadi’. Vijay Antony and Sangeetha open the song with ease. A mix of traditional and western music makes it feel like a fusion of sorts. The track is lively with good use of instruments. Though it may appear like a rehash of some former tunes, down the line it surely seems impressive.
‘Un Paarvaiyo’ the next song follows the peppiness and forth of the first one. Vijay and Shoba give out an electrifying performance. The song has some rock and reggae influence which is something very novel. The track is a good one and Vijay Antony gets applause for a commendable work.
On the line of fusion appears another track ‘Panjumittai’ with the base of folk and western elements. Thavil and drums takes on the song and the experience is really splendid. The song is rendered by Antony. Giving a break from fusion and western influence appears ‘Suppose’. This is a romantic number crooned well by newcomers Ranjith and Vinaya. Their voice fits the instinct of the song. The track is fast and appealing too. ‘Vaanamthaan’ also woo you. Manickam Vinayagam takes a break from his regular mass numbers and renders a sentimental number with refinement. The track owes a lot to his voice.
Adding to the good fervor comes ‘Uchi Muthal’ in the voice of Gayathri and Timmy. They preserve the essence of the track with their tone and feel. The track also highlights Antony’s talents as he builds up a melodious romantic track on the slow pace but with the right mix.
Antony closes the album with grace too. ‘Thulluvatho Ilamai’ is a distinguishing track from the lot. Subha pumps pace to the song with her high-pitched vocal. The tune is extremely wonderful and the Spanish influence makes it resounding. The orchestra and the right sounding vocal make it a mind-blowing track.
