Audio Review : Himesh disappoints Insan

Keshu Ramsay last year came out with Khakee, the movie about cops starring Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar and Tushar Kapoor. This year too with the same star cast he announces his forthcoming release Insan. One more common factor is the action packed thrill and entertainment. Lara Dutta. Esha Deol, Koena Mitra and Laila are playing the leading ladies. The film is to be directed by K. Subaash and is expecting a release in the initial months of 2005. Keshu Ramsay is all geared to accelerate, let’s watch how far he is able to chase ahead of the other new releases!

Talking in terms of the music, the most appraised composer Himesh Reshammiya has decorated the lyrics of Sameer with his music. He is the chosen one for almost all the forthcoming movies. He had done an entertaining job with melody. It’s his turn to prove how prolific he is!

The album starts with the Udit-Alka duet ‘Chunri Re’. Disappointingly the song doesn’t have the profundity of ‘Vaada Raha’.  Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer fail to weave magic and impress. It’s the same Bollywood style romantic peppy song with Himesh mark on it. It’s sadly repetitive but is predictable that it will be popular with the masses!

Another routine duet follows in the voices of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik ‘Rabba Mere Rabba’. The lyrics follow to curse God for the torments of falling in love. Don’t we deserve a break? How many more! There is nothing on the part of the singers, composer or the lyricist to help the song. The number is absolutely futile. Hope the presence of Esha Deol on the screen will make an impact. The same song follows again in a sadder version with Alka Yagnik. And then comes the ‘Instrumental’.

Breaking the flow of romantic numbers, with zeal comes ‘Rain Rain’. To mention, the zeal is evident only in the voices of Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan because other than that the music is stale and monotonous.  The vocalists do carve a niche by singing fast paced song and doing their job well. Though the song is pretty catchy it’s inept and mediocre. The song repeats again in the solo version of Sunidhi Chauhan. Himesh please come out with something novel.

Sonu Nigam ‘Khwahish’ does bring in a temporary relief with Alka Yagnik. But the song also doesn’t have the mileage to hold on for long.

‘Is Tarah Deewane’ is a foot tapping dance number. Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan have come together in vocal to leave the audience enthralled in this dance floor number. Their vocals in different pitch and variation go very well together.

This brings us to the end of it. The soundtrack is a mixture of some Bollywood style romantic melodies and dance numbers. But they sound cyclic and dull for the lack of experimentation and novelness. It’s an utter disappointment for music flicks. Hope that it will at least survive the test of time, that is until the film release.
