‘Socha Na Tha’ is a movie from the former heartthrob of India Dharmendra. It introduces another Deol in to the Hindi movie world. Abhay Deol, cousin of Sunny and Bobby Deol stars opposite to Ayesha Takia. This movie is a launch pad for the director of the movie Imtiaz Ali. Sandesh Shandilya, the man who scored music for the offbeat movie ‘Chameli’ is the music director. Irshad Kamil and Subrat Sinha write lyrics. With Subrato Shandiliya in the music director’s seat we can expect some good melodious tracks.
Album starts with the song ‘Yara Rab’. It has an old world charm. The innocence in the voice of Sanjivini suits the female character of the movie. Sonu Nigam joins her with his soft and romantic vocals. Irshad Kamil is the man behind these beautiful lines. This is one of the memorable songs in this album.
‘Abhi Abhi’ is an enjoyable track. Sung by the masters of hip- hop, Sonu Nigam, Kunal Ganjawala and Sunidhi Chauhan this track emits the youthful energy. The heavy use of fast paced Caribbean beats adds to the vitality of the song. This foot- tapping number takes some time to sink in. But once you get used to the tune it stays with you forever.
‘Seedhay Saade Dhang Se’ is a ‘seedha saada’ musical composition by Sandesh Shandilya. This is a chatty kind of love song where the hero professes his love to his sweet heart. So the music is very soft and it complements the mood of the song. Irshad Kamil expresses the hero’s feeling towards his love through his simple lyrics. KK’s vocals match with the feel of the song. Altogether this is a sweet and soft track you will love to sing along.
Keeping with his image Sandesh Shandilya gives us another soft melodious track ‘Mera Tumhara’. This song written by Subrat Sinha is a sweet and simple romantic number. Sandesh Shandilya sings this song as well. This song is a treat for music lovers.
After this song the dance track ‘Abhi Abhi’ repeats and it is followed by another lively score ‘Zindagi’. Lalit Bhushan replaces Kunal Ganjanwala as he joins Sonu and Sunidhi in the rendition of this playful track. Irshad Kamil is the man behind these ‘masti bhari’ lyrics. It is sure to find a place in the hearts of the young adults.
Sandesh concludes this album with another melodious track ‘Socha Na Tha’. Once again Sandesh shows his singing prowess with this song. This time Sadhana Sargam gives him company in his endeavor.
On the whole this is a wonderful album. The songs in this album compete with each other for supremacy. With a powerful marketing this album will sell like hot cakes. This movie adds another feather in the cap its music director Sandesh. This is going to be a valuable addition to your music collection. So go and get it.
