After the success of ‘Jism’ Bipasha Basu and John Abraham are a hot pair. They come together again for Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Aetbaar’. Apart from the duo, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Vikram Bhatt is striving for a hit now as his last two films has been disaster. But with the star cast and a musical galore by Rajesh Roshan, he has a reason to smile. It seems Rajesh Roshan had made sure not to risk on anything by taking in 5 different lyricists and 11 singers to do 6 songs. This is news. Let’s check out what does the music holds!
A romantic track ‘Tum Mujhe Bas Yuh Hi’ takes off at the initials with Kumar Sanu and Sujata Bhattacharya crooning away. Rajesh Roshan customarily tries with varied instruments and here too he puts in fragments of piano, guitar, and percussion. What the track lacks is the spark to trigger off. The lyrics of Nasir Faraaz don’t help much to linger on in mind.
Another romantic track follows with ‘Chodo Chodo’ with impressive rendition by Sunidhi Chauhan and Udit Narayan. Ibrahim Ashq has got along with the lyrics well. What hasn’t merged in is the composition that falls into bits and pieces. This makes the song a good one but shorter of being a great one.
The album takes a stroll with a seductive and sensual track ‘Saanse Ghulne Lagi’. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal charge up the song to a different level. Shreya with her honeyed vocal skills tries to repeat the enigma of Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai making her talent shine forth. But the music is pretty bland with Rajesh Roshan and lyricist Chandrashekhar Rajit's wrapping up an ordinary job.
The title track ‘Aetbaar’ is an upbeat and frothy number and Abhijeet and Alka Yagnik performs it duly. The tempo is fine and lyricist Dev Kohli justifies. Overall the track is a privileged one.
Rajesh Roshan doesn’t let the spirit down as he gathers momentum again for ‘Na Nazaaron Ka’ with Babul Supriyo and Shweta Pandit. Lyrics by Maya Govind just pull along. The beats keep you going but the composition hold back. The track is just passable.
Baritone voiced Big B after performing for four tracks in his recent release Baghban seems to have gathered confidence. And that’s the reason he wields again all by himself ‘Jeena Hai Kis Liye’. Roshan backs up with techno style of music and the lyrics of Chandrashekhar Rajit pumps in the necessary.
With instrumentals holding a strong foothold in the album of recent times, ‘Aetbaar’ couldn’t lag back. ‘The Feel of Aetbaar’ sounds good and impels a lot of romantic vibes.
Looking at the tracks hat has been piled up ‘Aetbaar’ won’t be a musical success that’s for sure. Rajesh Roshan is plainly average and even the trial shows of the lyricist doesn’t add glory. The album will fall flat in respect of everything. Vikram Bhatt seems to be trouble again!
