‘Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin’ is a film written, produced and directed by S.M.Iqbal. The action-comedy has Akshay Kumar and Sridevi in the lead. Johny Lever, Chitra Gupta, Anupam Kher and Gulshan Grover are in the role of a comic don. Laxmikant Pyarelal composes the music and Anand Bakshi and Majrooh Sultanpuri pen the lyrics. This is musician Laxmikant and lyricist Anand Bakshi's last venture together.

The film narrates the story of Durga (Sridevi) an outspoken, playful and a courageous village girl. She gets married to Ajay (Akshay Kumar) who is an inspector and comes to city along with her husband. Being born and bred in the village manner she is always curious to know about everybody staying in her locality and always interferes in their lives. Rather her good friend in the area is a woman who runs a pan-beedi shop in the basti. Ajay is a brave and honest Police Inspector who intends to eliminate people working for gangster Bhairav (Anupam Kher). D.S.P.Chorasia (Kiran Kumar) his senior corrupt officer has friendly relations with Bhairav and is always helping him.
