Audio Review : A Thorough Entertainer

Producer: Lakshman Bhatia
Director: Ajai Sinha
Cast: Rocky Bhatia,Dia Mirza, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Gauri Karnik, Kiran Janjani, Ishita Arun
Music: Vishal Shekhar
Lyrics: Kumaar, Panchhi Jalonvi, Vishal

‘Stop’ is special for both its director and female lead. They are making their debut with this movie. Tejaswini Kolhapure the lil’ sister of yester year heroine Padmini Kolhapure is one of the female lead. Ajay Sinha is the man at the helm of things.

Tejaswini Kolhapure is a household name. She is a star of the small screen. With this movie ‘Stop’ she is entering the big world of Bollywood Cinema. Another debutant is the director of this movie- Ajay Sinha. He too had a successful stint with the television.

Other than Tejaswini this movie also features Rocky Bhatia, Ishita Arun, Dia Mirza, Kiran Janjani and Gauri Karnik. The popular music director duo Vishal –Shekhar scores music. Kumaar, Panchhi Jalonvi and Vishal come up with the lyrics.

The album begins with a dance number ‘Nachle’. This rhythmic peppy number makes you shake your legs. Shan and Sunidhi Chauhan add zing to this song with their sparkling performance. The choreography is in sync with the mood of the song. The remixed version is far livelier.

The feel of the next song is completely opposite to the first one. ‘Meri Kahani’ sung by Sonu Nigam is a slow, soft number. Sonu Nigam who is known for his melodious rendition once again keeps the listeners in trance. This song with beautiful lyrics and music is the clear winner.

After this comes a Ghazal from the maestro Jagjit Singh. His soulful voice beautifies the sad track ‘Dil Tarasta Hai’. Panchhi Jalonvi’s words are very touching. The music, vocals and lyrics together succeed in creating a sad ambience.

After these two soft tracks here comes another fast song. Kunal Ganjanwala croons this zippy theme number ‘Stop’. This is a cheery track about youth and their vision. It is not a unique creation but it is an enjoyable track and it plays its part in establishing the theme of the movie.

The last song of this album is a celebration track. Four friends celebrate their friendship and muse over the time they spent in each other’s company. Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mahalakshmi Aiyer and Soumya Raoh sing this vivacious number. Vishal pens the lines. It is a complete entertainer.

In short, ‘Stop’ is a complete entertainer. It may not have a hit number in it. But all the songs in this album are above average. It has one of the best songs in both soft and fast song category. An album you should go for!
