The hit combo of ‘Gadar’, Anil Sharma and Shaktiman, with a mixed bag of stars gear together for another patriotic fervor ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo’. The film treads the path of Indo-Pak relationships alike the former movie of Anil Sharma ‘Gadar’. One is surprised to find Sunny Deol and Uttam Singh missing, who had ventured in the director’s earlier movies  ‘Gadar’ and ‘The Hero’. This time Anu Malik has been robbed to do the needful, who is so far a right choice after his stunning composition in war movies like Border, Refugee and LoC. Sameer pens the lyrics for the movie.

The soundtrack opens with ‘Humein Tumse Hua Hai Pyar’ by the ever dependable Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. But the mediocrity of the song strikes a blow, making their vocal sound erstwhile. Even the composition fails to cheer. Anu Malik and Sameer are typecast, and the song ranks very ordinary.

Out of the bolt appears a bhangra in the baritone voice of Sudesh Bhonsle, accompanied by Kailash Kher, Sonu Nigam, Sneha Pant, and Anuradha Paudwal. Anu Malik and Sameer again fail to deliver a triumphing track. Due to the lack of symphony and wrong choice of vocals, this seven-minute song goes haywire. What the two tracks really prove is that, Anu Malik can be at times very distasteful.

Probably he tries to improve with the next track ‘Mujhe Pyar Do’ a duet Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal. Though its nothing very substantial yet it sticks to the basics. Karsan Sargathia gives a classical rendition forthrightly stealing his credits. Anu Malik and Sameer’s improvisation makes the track an audible one.

‘Chali Aa Chali Aa’ is further impressive and the best so far. With an anonymous singer, Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik do an apparent job which is worth appraising. The song is pacy and Anu Malik really outshines with this number. The track has repeat value and will be a definite ear picker.

Anu Malik again comes out glorious with the track ‘Mere Sarpe Dupatta’. Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan and Jaspinder Narula’s vocal touches definitely owe the credit to make the song a resonate one. Anu Malik’s use of musical instruments with a great synchronization makes the song fit the bill. Sameer so far in the soundtrack has done an average job and carries with that fame with this too.

The title track ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo’ is an excellent composition and is the best in the soundtrack. This is the song you can look forward to again and again. Anu Malik gets to his skin to make it a melodic one with good use of vocals by Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, and Kailash Kher and the best use of instruments. The track repeats again but with different lyrics by Sameer who has done a better job here.

‘Shivji Satya Hai’, as the name itself signifies is a devotional song by Sukhwinder Singh and Sonu Nigam. The composition again leaves its mark again and lyrics also flourish. So the composer and the lyricist have a thing to cheer forth again.
The tracks come to an end with ‘Dil Rota Hai Baar Baar’ a melancholic number in the voice of Sonu Nigam, who really comes out well with such tracks. But the composition and the words go astray making the song futile and an unbearable one.

To sum up, the album is an odd mixture of good, mediocre and appalling tracks. So as a whole the music won’t be at all beneficial for the look of the movie. The movie will have to crawl up all by itself. With the much-needed hype and a gala star cast, it won’t be a tough climb though.
