Film director Shankar is working hard on his next venture Anniyan with the producer V Ravichandran of Oscar Films.

After failing to rise upto expectations with Boys, Shankar, who was till then a 'dream director' with five hits under his belt began shooting Anniyan. Sujatha is handling the screenplay and dialogues. 'It is a dream for every actor to be a part of Shankar's movie. Ever since Sethu, I was aspiring to act in his film. Today, I feel happy to play the lead in Anniyan, which has a different and innovative theme', Vikram said.
 
'I was very anxious when I did Sethu, but now a role in Anniyan has made me tense, since I will be working with talented persons like Shankar, Sujatha and music director Harris Jeyaraj', he said.

Shankar is known for big-budget movies and Anniyan would be no different.

The cast includes Jeyam fame Sadha, Vivek, Prakash Raj, Malayalam actors Nedumudi Venu, 'Cochin' Haneefa and Kalabhavan Mani. Search is on for another heroine for the movie.

About working with Shankar, Harris Jeyaraj said, 'it is certainly a different feeling to work with him. I would strive to give good tunes and ensure success from my side'. The movie being produced by Oscar Films Ravichandran is expected for release this Deepavali.

Meanwhile, Vikram's next venture Arul is all set for release on 1 May. According to Ajay Kumar, the producer of Arul, 'we are on schedule and will be positively releasing the film on 1 May and keep our promise to the theatres and distributors.'
