Producer: Sneh Mehta Director: Harryy W Fernandes Cast: Sanjay Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Tejaswini Kolhapure Music: Himesh Reshammiya Lyrics: Sameer
Stuck for long in the shelves, the horror film ‘Anjaane - The Unknown’ is at last seeing the light of the day. Produced by Sneh Mehta the film is directed by newcomer Harryy W Fernandes. Playing the lead in the film are Sanjay Kapoor, Manisha Koirala and Tejaswini Kolhapure. Doing the music is Himesh Reshammiya with lyrics by Sameer. The tunes of the music make it obvious that Himesh must have signed the film when he was a starter.
Kunal Ganjawala begins the title song ‘Anjaane’. It takes one by surprise to see the most vibrating voice crooning a dull and lack luster number. Though it is a romantic song, the element doesn’t fit right to give a go. There is another version of the number in the female voice of Alka Yagnik. However things fail to look good.
Himesh begins the next track ‘De Do Re De Do’ with heavy percussion. Jayesh and Sunidhi Chauhan get behind the mike to set the tempo right for the track. Sounding like old numbers, this item song doesn’t have the spark. Another dull and boring track!
A love duet ‘Ishq Hai’ comes up from the dependable duo Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Though the song cannot be spoken in great lengths yet it comes as a respite from the earlier number. With melody and some often-heard lyrics, the song is okay.
Children do an outing with ‘Mummy Cool Cool’. Sung by Baby Mohini Roy and Master Sohail the song isn’t the one that you’re going to fall for. Just reach for the forward button!
Arriving at the end we’ve ‘Soni Re’ sung by K.K. and Sapna Mukarji. A good number to end the album. With pace and rhythm this is the best song of the lot. But Himesh from today’s viewpoint can do a lot better job. So this is not definitely the song that will speak high of his histrionics.
Making the rounds of the song, it is well evident now that the music of ‘Anjaane - The Unknown’ is nothing much to look forward to!
