Audio Review : Worth your penny

Producer: Mukesh Bhatt
Director: Anurag Bose
Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Diya Mirza
Music: Nadeem Shravan
Lyrics: Sameer

The ‘Murder’ trio Mahesh- Mukesh, Anurag Bose and Emraan Hashmi come together in this new movie ‘Tumsa Nahin Dekha’. Bhatt’s movies are known for its trendy hit tracks. Their last movie ‘Murder’ also boasted of some of the most popular soulful music. This is the same case here with ‘Tumsa Nahin Dekha’.  Bhatts have re-called their trusted lieutenants Nadeem –Shravan and Sameer. With this winning combination let us keep our fingers crossed and pray for another haunting piece of music.

The first song of this album is a unique piece. Famous pianist Richard Clayderman is the man behind this music composition.  The voice of Roop Kumar Rathod and Shreya Ghosal add grace to this song  ‘Yeh Dhuan Dhuan’. This nostalgic composition is reminiscent of the music of 60s. The sound of piano enhances the feel of the song. In short this is a song that goes straight in to heart and stays there forever.

‘Bheed Mein Tanhaai Mein’ brings forth the feeling of loneliness a lover feels without his sweetheart close by. Udit Naryan and Shreya Ghosal heighten this mood with their hearty rendition. With this song the music director duo Nadeem-Shravan finds their musical touch back. This soft and sweet melody makes you fall for it. There is a second version of this song for those who have not had enough of it.

The next one is also a melodious track on lonesomeness -‘Tanhayiyan’. This time it is Sonu Nigam who croons this number. Sonu’s romantic voice effectively brings forth the pain of being alone. A fine track to relax with after a busy days work!

After all this ‘tanhayiyan’ and pain here comes a peppy dance number ‘Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hai’.  This youthful track is in the lively voice of Shaan and Shreya Ghosal. This song brings forward a confused Shaan and an effervescent Shreya. The remixed version of this one by DJ Akeel is fizzier than the original one. This energetic track makes you look for your dancing shoes.

After listening to the next track you may wonder how can you have such an ordinary composition in the middle of all these musical wonders? ‘Maine Soch Liya’ crooned by Udit and Shreya lacks all that the other songs have. Frankly, it is an ignorable track.

With ‘Woh Humse Khafa Hai’ Sameer is back to his poetic excellence. His words convey the mood of the lover who just had a fight with his beloved. This romantic melody comes close in feel to the Rajesh Roshan composition ‘Ghar Se Nikalte Hi’. Nadeem –shravan has come up with a soothing piece of music. Once again it is Shreya and Udit who lends voice to this beautiful composition. Nice track!

The last track of the album ‘Dhanak Ka Rang’ is a solo by Shreya Ghosal. It gives out the energy and happiness of a lover who has just got back his love. This song presents us with a shrill –voiced Shreya. Even though this is not a popular track, it sounds good when you hear it for the first time.

On the whole this album is nowhere close to the other Bhatt hit numbers. But when you take this one alone it offers some good, enjoyable tracks. The songs like ‘Bheed Mein Tanhai mein’, ‘Yeh Dhuan Dhuan’ and the peppy number ’Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hai’ are memorable creations. This one is worth your penny.
