Producer: 2 Gram Films Director: Sanjay Bhatia Cast: Shawar Ali, Raima Sen, Dipannita Sharma Music: Various
You’ve correctly guessed that this is a film on the popular music station on radio called 99.9 FM. So it’s pretty obvious that there will be a lot of songs and music happening right here. But sadly apart from these facts there are no other strengths that this film holds.
Shawar Ali is a radio jockey and the potent factor of 99.9 FM. It is his anniversary and the film opens with him letting out the information to the listeners. He is longing to go back to his wife (Raima Sen). Hereafter follows flashbacks that reveal that Shawar has two women in his life. Dipannita Sharma is his lover and Raima Sen is his wife. What happens next is a murder.
The story doesn’t have the grip and its length worsen the fact. Though it’s a film of only one and half hour, it doesn’t have the potential to hold the audience for that period of time even. The story is tedious and lack luster. Sanjay Bhatia the debutante director seems confused and thus the result is a haywire film. If there is one good thing that the film has, it’s the songs.
Shawar Ali who dons the role of a RJ, a domineering husband, a lover, a murderer, impresses in neither of the characters. The expression is missing and though he had a good opportunity to forecast his talent, he has miserably failed to do so. Raima Sen gives out a good performance though Dipannita kisses dust.
The film has flown down the drain with nothing working in its favour.
