Audio Review : Megham (2004)

A Pleasant Shower

Director: Sunil Kumar Reddy
Music: adhakrishna
Lyrics: P Sunilkumar Reddy
Singers: S. P. Balasubramaniam, Srinivas, Radhakrishna, Chitra, Kausalya, and Sujatha

Director Sunil Kumar Reddy, after making off-beat films like 'Silence Please' and 'Hero' has now made the commercial 'Megham', demanding crowd-pulling songs. Debutant composer Radhakrishna has tried to supply the need. He has scored only five tunes, but managed to show variety.

The album begins with the softly melodious "Neepai Nakunnadi", rendered by Srinivas and Chitra. It is followed by a foot-tapping number "Adigindi Eyanidhi…" sung by composer himself and Kausalya.

But the pick of the album is the SPB-Chitra duet "Naa Manaso" It sounds like a chartbuster.

The SPB-Sujatha number "Sarasala Chelikada", on the other hand, is just hummable. The youthful number "Nee Aasthi", rendered by composer and Kausalya, is definitely mass-centric.
