Movie Review : Kanninum Kannadiykkum (2004)

Director: Sunder Dass
Cast: Kalabhavan Mani, Sidiq, Sona Nair, aswathy, Prabhu- Sukunya (guest roles)
Music: M Jayachandran

Short story writer Haridas Karivellur had written the story for this film.

Harikrishnan (played by Siddhique) is trying to write a screenplay based on the lives of lorry drivers for director Rajasenan. But, at his wife’s workplace, he ends up meeting a very interesting man named Pravu (Kalabhavan Mani).

Pravu had been doing only good for others. He is a very simple man with no greed or any attachments. Hari believes that he might have an interesting past. So, he goes on a mission to find out about him.

He fins out that his wife’s colleague Abhirami (played by Ashwathi) was his wife in his ‘previous life’. That’s when the screenplay really begins to churn.

On the screen, the roles of Pravu and his wife are enacted by Prabu and Sukanya. But, the onscreen presentation turns out to be completely different from what had happened in real life. When Pravu watches the film, he is taken aback and screams that the film doesn’t show his life…

The Good- Attempt to do something different with the character depiction.

The Bad- Most of the other characters like Jagadi’s and Indrans’ look artificial.
