Audio Review : Stay away from Yeh Lamhe

Producer: Ritesh G Nayyar
Director: Birebdra Nath Tiwari
Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Raveena Tandon, Mohnish Behl, Navneet
Music: Nikhil-Vinay
Singers: Asha Bholse, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik,  Kumar Sanu, Sadhana Sargam

‘Yeh Lamhe Judai Ke’ is a usual love story starring Shahrukh Khan and Raveena Tandon. As this Ritesh Nayar production took almost a decade to finish it looks out of place in today’s scenario. Birendra Nath Tiwari, the director of this movie treats this common love story in the same old tried and tested way. Even the music scored by Nikhil –Vinay falls into the obsolete category. Yogesh, Chander, S. R. Bharti and Rani Malik are the lyricists.

Other than the lead star the movie has nothing to boast about. The popular voice of 90’s Kumar Sanu is heard in most of the songs, only the female voice changes.

Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam start the proceedings with a romantic number ’Tera Naam Lene Kee’. This song lacks life and enthusiasm. Even the vocals of Kumar Shanu and Sadhana Sargam sounds ordinary. Nikhil – Vinay, the composer of this pathetic track has used the same tune in another movie with much more effect.

Next song ‘Yeh Dil Hai Ya Sheesha’ reminds you of the lyrics of an old Hindi song ‘Sheesha Hai Ya Dil Hai’. But this one comes nowhere close to the classic track. Kumar Shanu croons this one. Like the previous track this one is also another forgettable track.

‘Tum Paas Ho Jab Mere’ is another pitiable track in the voices of Kumar Shanu and Asha Bhonsle. Even the voice of these established singers fail to add to the musical quality of the song. This one looks more like a Nadeem-Shravan composition than Nikhil-Vinay. Anyway this horrible music piece fails to have any impact on the listeners.

There is not even a single composition yet which can be passed as an average track. Next one ‘Yaadien Teri Yaadien’ is in the same league. This one crooned by Kumar Shanu has two versions –sad and happy. But none of the versions are good.

Then it is the turn of an item number. With an item number you hope to get back some of your lost good mood. But ‘Ram Kasam Dilli Sarkar’ is the worst ever item track composed by a music director. It irritates you and you end up in cursing your music player. Rajendra Salil is the culprit here and Alka Yagnik is the chosen one to render this horrific track.

It is high time. But this album offers two passable tracks in the end. After listening to the previous tracks all your hopes of finding a likable song might have ended. But contrary to the expectation the last two tracks fares well. The first one ‘Mere Dil Ko Kare Bekaboo’ is in the voice of Asha Bhonsle and Udit Narayan. Next one is a solo track rendered by none other than Ashaji. This Punjabi track enlivens the spirit of the listeners. But it takes a long time to emerge. By then the listeners have already lost their patience.

This is one of the horrible soundtracks in recent years. Stay away from this!
