Audio Review : Woh (2004)

Music: Anand Raaj Anand
Lyrics: Dev Kohli
Singers: Abhijeet, Anand Raj Anand, Sadhana Sargam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Udit Narayan

As you listen to Anand Raaj Anand’s first song in …Woh, you’re pretty impressed, as Abhijeet sings Dev Kohli’s lines “Uparwale yeh kya hua, mere siva tu sab ka hua.” The problem is that the album has four versions of this song — two long and two short, two by Abhijeet and two sung by Anand Raaj himself. After so many versions, … Woh turns to …Woe.

The rest of the album is quite shaky, the only likeable part coming through the Udit Narayan-Sadhana Sargam duet Zindagi Mein Jod Doon Tere Naam Se. It’s a pleasant song, though it’s somewhat predictable.

Sunidhi Chauhan’s Meri Mehfil Ka Rang and Anand Raaj’s Beimani Ke Dhande Mein are forgettable. The instrumental title music is no great shakes either. So basically what you should do is to listen to the first two tracks — Abhijeet’s Uparwale and the Udit-Sadhana duet — and not dare to progress any further.
