Audio Review : Shikar- Music fails to thrill

Producer: Surjit S Pandher
Director: Dharshan Bagga
Cast: Jaz Pandher, Prem Chopra, Raj Babbar, Danny Denzongpa.
Music: Anand Raaj Anand
Lyrics: Dev Kohli, Praveen Bharadwaj

‘Shikar’ is a movie directed by Darshan Bagga. This movie produced by Surjit S Pandher star Jaz Pandher, Prem Chopra, Raj Babbar and Danny Denzongpa. Anand Raj Anand scores the music. Dev Kohli is the lyricist. This album boasts of some good romantic songs.

The album stars with a romantic number ‘Tumpe Marne Lage Hain Hum’. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik render this simple and sweet song.  Alka starts the proceeding and Udit joins her after some time. Anand Raj Anand has done a fine piece of work.

‘Jitna Bhi Karlo Pyar Hum Ko Kum Lagega’ is another romantic number from the same pair. This one also follows the same track. Alka starts the song and Udit joins her in the middle of the song. Lyrics and Music is simple and interesting.

Next in line is ‘Nazron Se Nazron Ko’. The Barbie girl of Indian pop Alisha Chinoy renders this one. The song starts in a soft manner and gains in volume on its way to culmination. Alisha fails to excite her fans with this song. Anand Raj Anand and Dev Kohli fail to deliver. This song is repeated again in this album

‘Nazar Nazar Nazar’ is a fast, scary track in the voice of Sunidhi Chauhan. This young lad comes out with an excellent rendition. Anand Raj Anand’s music fails to invoke fear in the listeners.

‘Sona Sona Dil De’ is another lively and energetic number. Udit Narayn is the singer. This one has the potential to be a popular number. Good lyrics, energetic composition and a matching rendition!

One fast track follows another. ‘O Jiya Kya Kiya’ is not as attractive as the first one. Dev Kohli disappoints. Udit Narayan, Anand Raaj Anand, Sunidhi Chauhan and Vinod Rathod lend their voice to this peppy number. Among the pack of singers all except Anand Raj Anad sing well. The music director’s voice does not gel with the voice of other singers and it possesses an annoying quality.

‘Jaane Jaana Jaane Jaana’ is next in line. This one is an item song. Sunidhi Chauhan comes up with an energetic performance. There is nothing much to talk about the lyrics and music.

‘Pyaar Nein Ae Mere Humdum’, a sad track well sung by Abhijeet. Abhijeet’s deep voice is best suited to this kind of songs. This is one of the best creations from Dev Kohli and Anand Raj Anand. This song will linger with us for some more days.

This album concludes in a positive note. Anand Raj Anand finds his rhythm back at the end of this album.  Praveen Bharadwaj pens down a simple and beautiful lyric. All together ‘Dil Kisika Dil’ is an enjoyable track. The mesmerizing voice of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal makes it an enjoyable track.

In short, the album’ Shikar’ contains some of the average romantic tracks. The track ‘Sona Sona Dil De’ is better of the lot. You can enjoy all the other songs just once.
