Audio Review : Shaadi Ka Laddoo (2004)

Music: Vishal-Shekhar
Lyrics: Vishal
Singers: Udit Narayan, Mahalakshmi, Kay Kay, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan

With Shaadi ka Ladoo, music directors Vishal-Shekhar are back in action, with Vishal writing the lyrics. After some neat songs in Jhankaar Beats and other hits like Musu Musu in Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Allah Ke Bande in Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II, they start with an item song here. Chal Hatt, sung exuberantly by Sunidhi Chauhan, may catch the fancy of the masses, but the lyrics ‘Dil mera bole chal hatt’ are too pedestrian.

Sunidhi sings two other songs — the techno-ish Bach Ke Rehna and the soothing ballad Woh Kaun Hai, where the lyrics are appealing — “Sapnon mein aake chura jaaye dil, neende jo udaata hai, woh kaun hai.”

Shaan and Mahalakshni coordinate well on the romantic Kuch Toh Ho Raha Hai, but the Udit Narayan-Mahalakshmi duet Tum Kaho Toh doesn’t create an impact. Finally, KK and Shaan get together on the situational Biwi Ka Belan, where one friend is advising another not to marry. Despite some pleasant tunes, this isn’t in the same league as other Vishal-Shekhar songs.
